Engineering the human psyche. In this episode Judith Germain speaks to Jim Marshall about engineering the human psyche. Jim Marshall discusses his discovery of a natural phenomena called Septemics which is a practical philosophical system that analyses human phenomena. He claims that his book will greatly improve the lives of those who utilise it.
He explains that he discovered and developed a system of 35 scales to evaluate human behaviour and improve individuals or groups. By understanding and moving up the levels of these scales, Jim believes that people could achieve their goals faster and easier.
They discuss the concept of scales and how they can be used to understand people better. Jim shares that spotting someone’s level on a scale is based on insight and observation, and gives an example of how someone could use a scale to analyse a difficult relationship.
Jim’s big claim is that his system could be used to analyse and solve any type of issue or difficulty that a person may have, regardless of the area it pertains to. He also mentions that the system is user-friendly and accessible to anyone who wants to improve themselves, except for individuals who are evil or mentally ill.
An interesting conversation exploring whether it’s possible to real solve any human behaviour problem just by utilising the scales in his book.
