Maverick Paradox Podcast – 200 episodes!

Maverick Paradox Podcast – 200 episodes! Plus! When I published my first podcast episode on 6 December 2017 I didn’t imagine that I would be celebrating this milestone, on my own magazine no less!

The podcast has grown beyond what I had envisioned when I published my first episode. I was very nervous, and it took awhile to discover the right tech and format for the show. You can see how the podcast has changed since 2017, and I don’t just mean the cover art! Regardless of the evolution in style, tech and art, the subjects that we’ve talked about, have always been challenging and interesting!

My first episode was a conversation with Curtis Tappenden, where we talked about Maverick attributes. It was a great first episode and Curtis was an insightful guest and his episode is still being downloaded today! Over 4 years later.

It is hardly a surprise to me, that people are still discovering this episode, as it is the most downloaded episode on the podcast, despite it being the first show, with no teaser, music etc

You can listen to the episode here and tell me if you enjoy it too:

Why start a podcast?

In May (2017) my book The Maverick Paradox: The Secret Power Behind Successful Leaders was published, and by the November I was looking for a new project to focus alongside my client work. That search collided with my growing desire to have interesting conversations with Socialised Mavericks and Maverick Behaviourists.

I wanted to interact with individuals that have an interesting, challenging view on diverse business topics, and would be fun to have a conversation with. I also wanted to show that Maverick Leadership resides everywhere. You don’t have to be a leader in an organisation to benefit from the utilisation of Maverick Leadership principles and the podcast has effectively demonstrated that.

The Maverick Paradox Podcast is enjoyed by those that work in organisations and those that run them.

The podcast had began as a bi-weekly show, which changed to a weekly show after 61 episodes in February 2020. This was just before the Covid pandemic, and certainly gave me something to do, during the first 6 months lockdown. I had no trouble attracting guests, although listeners dropped significantly as people stopped travelling to work.

I persevered and in August 21 the podcast was ranked as being in the global most popular podcasts. In September 2021, the podcast went twice weekly (it began as a bi-weekly podcast), and now includes a replay of my radio show The Maverick Paradox @ KLDR Online Leadership Development Radio. My show is the most listened to show on the station. You can discover the weekly broadcasted show by reading all about it on the magazine! Or by clicking the button below.

A podcast episode goes live on Mondays and Fridays. Click the button below to see the list of available episodes.

Hosting the podcast has been a whole lot of fun, with paradigm shifting guests, discussing diverse topics. We’ve covered everything from leadership and marketing to NFTs, imposter syndrome, brand growth, entrepreneurism, Mavericks and so much more! We haven’t finished either, we have some really thought provoking guests lined up!

The Maverick Paradox Podcast is downloaded in 37 different countries, particularly loved in The United States, Trinidad and Tobago, the UK, France and Canada. It has now been ranked as being in the top 3% global most popular podcasts. It has also been ranked as the 12th best UK Leadership podcast to follow in 2021 and 2022.

My podcast can be found on all the popular podcast platforms, including interactive podcast apps like Clever.fm (who featured me as ‘one of our fav podcast creators’ for Women’s History Month), and streaming platforms like Spotify, and even Audible!
