Circling the Sun: Lessons from 17 Years of Leadership and Change. Every culture has a new year.  Many celebrate it at the turn of the sweep hand one second past Midnight on December 31st, rolling us into January 1st, but many do not.

No matter when you celebrate your new year, whether fiscal, religious, or cultural, it is a time for renewal, optimism, and rebirth. This is a time to reflect on what has gone well, what has not, what can be learned and how to do better as we circle the sun again.

It is a time to take stock, sometimes lick our wounds, brush ourselves off and start again.

No matter who we are, we need to take the time to celebrate the wins, acknowledge the times we haven’t and understand how we become better because of both.

Over the last seventeen years, I have used the end of the year to reflect on myself, my company and my customers. I ask myself, have I served each of these three to the best of my ability, done my best, and left the world a little bit better than where I found it 365 days ago?

I am proud to say that the answer has mostly been yes, and my success has come from the successes of those I support.

I believe the “I” in WIN is a collective “I.” It is how we all prosper, coach, mentor, and achieve together, utilising each other’s strengths to augment any personal challenges that ultimately matter. So, I found myself asking the question again this year, “How can I do better?” and the answer was that it was time for what’s next.

It is time to disassemble Your Brand Marketing and find my next home, where I can be part of something with national or international impact, where legacy is important, and where I can lead, coach, and mentor the next generation of communications leaders.

I know what I do well:

Ø  People say that I am a fantastic storyteller and builder of brands

Ø  I love both strategy and implementation of internal and external communication

Ø  I thrive when handling stakeholder relations

Ø  Change management comes naturally to me

Ø  I always keep customer experience at the forefront of my mind.

I want to work with mid to large-sized B2B firms. I am based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, but I am a dual US/Canadian citizen, so I am able and willing to travel.

As we round the corner into 2025, what are you doing to get from where you are to where you desire to be, and how can I help you achieve your goals?

I look forward to the conversation.
